Open Question: In applying for the FBI, is this an advantage?

I would like to go to college and major in Psychology, and perhaps possibly get a PhD eventually as well. But right now, I am a freshman in high school, and I am teaching myself computer programming. Even if I do not go to college and get a degree in Computer Science/Programming, will my knowledge on the subject of computer programming still give me an advantage while applying for the FBI?
