I am thinking of going to the online program at UMASS – Boston for a master in Science in Mental Health Counseling OR Family Therapy.
Will this program be respected in the counseling community? or is this a scam or at least a waste of time???
It is a 60-credit master’s which meets the academic requirements for licensure in the state of Massachusetts as a Mental Health Counselor (there are additional post graduate clinical experience requirements for licensure) and a 2 weeks campus visit (for 2 required clinical courses).
The Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling Program prepares students to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) through the Board of Allied Mental Health through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The University of Massachusetts is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
Will my degree be shamed if I get it. Will I get a job afterwards?
